About Me
My background
I am an author and native North Carolinian. My childhood summers were spent on Topsail Island, which is a place I hold dear to my heart. My time there inspired me to write The Sandbar Series, The Sandbar and The Shoals, both avaliable on Amazon. I received a BA in History and Political Science from High Point University, and an MLS from Appalachian State University. My husband and I are currently restoring a 1966 Pearson Alberg 35 sailboat in New Bern. I take every opportunity to write.
My writing roots
I started writing when I was in the second grade. I found that putting words to paper was far easier than speaking. I was quiet, nice, and painfully shy. Writing always made me feel better. It still does. I find it to be the best therapy. As author of The Sandbar, I felt greatly obligated to write a sequel. Cassie’s story continues in The Shoals.
My style
I think the best writers write from experience.
